Mahé Seychelles | Gael & Cathy
True love on an island….
Cathy contacted me last year about photographing her wedding in Seychelles. I was extremely excited as I love Seychelles and the beach weddings are so beautiful. It was so nice to arrive in Seychelles and have warm weather for change. Although it is their winter it still gets to 28 degrees but is less humid than summer which is great. I met up with Gael & Cathy on the Sunday before the wedding to get to meet them in person and talk about the details of the day. Both Gael and Cathy work for Emirates and live in Dubai, being cabin crew they get to travel a lot and see many beautiful places. Cathy is from Hong Kong and Gael is from France, they only wanted a very small and intimate wedding and Seychelles was the perfect place. On the wedding day, I arrived at the guesthouse and most of the wedding guests were also there. Cathy got ready in one of the rooms of the house, the room was full of windows and it was so light and beautiful, a photographers dream. She had two wedding dresses, one was more formal for the wedding ceremony on the beach and the other was a more fun dress for the photos on the beach. Both dresses were so beautiful and Cathy looked amazing in each one. Gael and Cathy decided on doing “The first look”, this is where the groom gets to see his bride before the ceremony. I have never done one of these before and its really something special and I would recommend it to most couples. This way the groom gets to see the bride before anyone and the moment they share is just between them and no one else. Gael was speechless when he saw how beautiful Cathy looked.
We did a few photos at the house and then the car came to fetch Cathy, I drove with her and on the way there is poured down with rain. It can be sunny on one side of the island and a storm happening on the other side, its very unpredictable. Luckily as we pulled up to Baie Lazare beach, the clouds were open. The had a beautiful setting on the beach which was set up by the Marco Pross Group, who are wedding and event organisers. After the ceremony the couple and the guests had champagne and cake and then we did some photographs on the beach. We literally had an hour and half and then the clouds came over and it poured down with rain. We headed back to the guesthouse so Cathy could freshen up and put on her other dress. We had to wait a little for the rain but then headed off to another beach for some more photos.
Thank you so much Gael and Cathy for the opportunity to photograph and be apart of your special day. I had so much fun and your wedding will be one I will remember for a very long time.
