Palmiet Valley | Evan & Christy

Evan&Christy-680 copyEvan & Christy got married at the beautiful Palmiet Valley Estate in Paarl.  When I went to take a look at the location, I just knew that it would be a gorgeous fairytale wedding.

The first time I met with Evan & Christy was at their home, they were busy renovating and being the forward person that I am sometimes, I asked if I could get a tour of the house.  I love the program Grand Designs so I love looking at places that have been redone.  I could already tell that they were both very creative people with great taste.  They are both such lovely people and so easy to connect with that I ended up staying for quite a while.  I got a Power Point presentation of the wedding from Christy which was a first for me but it helped me so much to get an idea of what they had planned for the day.

April is always a tricky month because you can never rely on the weather but it ended up being a gorgeous day.  Christy was extremely chilled, they were a little late but not all of the guests had arrived which gave us a little more time.  Watching Christy, you could see how she was taking in every moment.  I still cant believe how calm she was, even amongst all the chaos with all the fairies running around, crying, disappearing and shouting.  I have never seen so many fairies at one wedding, they played a song from the Peter Pan soundtrack for the fairies to do their little dance too.  You never know what to expect when kids are involved so we had fairies running all over the place, some falling but it was very cute and the guests loved it.  The ceremony was also lovely and you could see how much these two adore one another.  After the ceremony, during the family photos, and all the other photos I took they couldn’t stop smiling at one another.

The guests went to the terrace for drinks and canapés, the view from the terrace is incredible.  They had the reception outside in the gardens under a marquee tent.  The guests were definitely ready for a good party, so after all the speeches the dance floor was opened by Evan and Christy who did a choreographed dance to a Metallica song, lol!

I am so glad I got to be part of such a special couples day!  Thank you Evan & Christy 🙂

Thank you Natalie Gabriels for helping me on the day.
