Monkey Valley | Simon & Kimberly
Simon & Kimberly’s Monkey Valley wedding
This was such a fun wedding to end the year off with! Simon and Kimberly had their Wedding at the Monkey Valley Resort in Noordhoek. They decided to have a hat theme because this is how they met.
Simon (who is South African) and Kimberly met on Facebook through a mutual friend because he bought a silly hat and Kimberly’s friend commented on it. Kimberly saw his picture and immediately messaged her friend to find out who this handsome guy in the silly hat was. At that point, Kimberly lived in New York, and Simon had recently moved to Seattle from South Africa. They began having dates online through Skype nightly. They met in person for the first time two months later when Simon flew out to visit, and at the end of their sixth day together, the day before Simon flew home, they decided that Kimberly would uproot and move across the country and they would give this relationship a real try. Another two months later, Simon flew out again and they drove across the US together. It’s been more than 2 years since they first met and look at them now, getting married!
What I liked about this wedding is that it wasn’t your traditional type one we are all use too, it was more about celebrating and getting all the families together. They never had a ceremony on that day but decided to have a private ceremony on the Monday afterwards. I remember when I Skyped the two of them they said they really want a nice relaxing and fun evening with their families and friends, they definitely got their wish 🙂
Thanks to Candice Rodrigues for helping me on the day.
